ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Immaculata University men's lacrosse team fell to host Elizabethtown College, 9-7, on Saturday afternoon in a non-league contest.
Joey Shallow had a team-leading three goals while
Ben Tuscai,
Ryan Cipriani and
Tayler Acree all finished with two points. Tuscai had two assists, and Cipriani and Acree each recorded on goal and one assist.
Mike Boyd and
Bhelly Bagbonon each scored one goal apiece.
Shallow started the scoring with a goal just 1:32 into the contest as the Mighty Macs had the early 1-0 edge. However, the Blue Jays evened the score at 1-all less than a minute later, and scored twice more to lead 3-1 after the first quarter.
Elizabethtown led 4-1 after tallying the first goal of the second quarter, but goals from Bagbonon and Boyd brought Immaculata within one, 4-3, with 8:26 remaining before halftime. Each side scored during the final two minutes of the half, as Cipriani found the back of the net for the Mighty Macs, and the Blue Jays held a slim 5-4 lead at intermission.
Elizabethtown scored the first three goals of the third quarter to lead by its largest margin of the game (8-4). Acree scored during the final minute of the third quarter for the Mighty Macs, who headed into the final quarter trailing, 8-5.
Shallow scored his second goal of the afternoon at the 10:48 mark of the fourth quarter but Elizabethtown answered with a goal just over a minute later. Shallow finished his hat trick with 3:08 left in the game to bring Immaculata down just two goals, 9-7, and the contest would end with the same score.

Max Bonhage made 12 saves playing a complete game in the loss. Elizabethtown goalie Brendan Corcoran made 12 saves in the win.
The Blue Jays was led by three goals from Shawn Corcoran and one goal and three assists by Russ LeClair.
Elizabethtown improved to 4-2 overall while Immaculata slipped to 0-6.
Immaculata travels to Susquehanna on Wednesday, March 21 at 5 p.m.
