HAVERFORD, Pa.- Immaculata University's baseball team fell to host Haverford, 5-2, in non-conference baseball action Tuesday afternoon.
Brett Knazek advanced to second on a throwing error and later scored on
Brandon Seibert's RBI single to grab an early lead in the second inning.
The Mighty Macs' second run of the game came in the third when
Eli Vottero advanced to third on
Matt Hardy's double and eventually scored on
Matt Bolden's grounder.
Haverford used a two-run fourth to knot the score 2-2, but gained the lead with a single in the sixth and two more in the seventh to hold on for the win.
Aaron Dietrich (0-2) took the loss on the mound for Immaculata after going 6.2 innings allowing seven hits and four earned runs.
Kirk Wenzler pitched 1.1 innings in relief allowing two hits and struck out three batters.
Vottero finished 2-for-3 at the plate while Bolden and Seibert each had one RBI.
Immaculata is back in action Wednesday, March 14 at Eastern for a single game at 3:30 p.m.
