Immaculata Bested by Alvernia in Non-Conference Match

IMMACULATA, Pa. -
The Immaculata women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to non-conference opponent Alvernia on Wednesday afternoon on the campus of Immaculata University.  The defeat moves Immaculata to 3-9 on the season.

Immaculata's third doubles team of Ally Minton and Julie Einwechter were the sole point winners for the Mighty Macs on the day as they defeated Faghr Khan and Kristy Schwenk by a score of 8-4.

Alvernia swept the singles matches, but Ally Minton and Kara Trowbridge were each close to coming up with a point for the Mighty Macs.  Minton fell in a tight 2-6, 5-7 decision to Jennifer Innamorto and Trowbridge lost a tie break 5-10 after splitting the first two sets 6-2, 2-6 against Alyssa Boyd.

The Immaculata women's tennis team will move back into conference play this Friday as the team travels to Neumann for a 3:30 CSAC matchup.  The Mighty Macs will be looking for their third conference victory of the season.
