IMMACULATA, Pa.- Kim Steinke and Bridget Cunningham led Immaculata with two goals each as host Immaculata University captured a 7-1 over Rosemont in a Colonial States Athletic Conference women's soccer match at Draper Walsh Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
Immaculata (2-2, 1-1 CSAC) scored three goals in the first half and four more in the second half en route to its first league victory against Rosemont (1-3, 2-3 CSAC).
Zena Tracey opened the scoring eight minutes into the contest, capitalizing on a corner kick from Kim Steinke. Steinke's first tally doubled the lead in the 22nd minute before making it 3-0 on her second goal of the game on a corner kick from Erin Lewis. The Mighty Macs held a 3-0 advantage at halftime, having outshot the Ravens by a 15-1 margin during the first 45 minutes.
Bridget Cunningham scored her first goal of the season on a breakaway in the second half before freshman Rebecca Stack recorded her first collegiate goal less than 30 seconds later. Cunningham increased Immaculata's lead 6-0 when she added her second score of the day in the 65th minute. Erin Lewis was the Mighty Macs other goal scorer as she converted in the 87th minute for her first goal of the season.
Rosemont's Kerry Hars scored the lone goal for the Ravens in the 86th minute to spoil the shutout.
Immaculata held an overwhelming 25-2 advantage in shots, and won the battle at corner kicks, 5-0. Zena Tracey and Kim Steinke led Immaculata's offense with five shots each.
Goalkeeper Jessica Versage started for the Ravens allowing three goals and making six saves while Gabrielle Delogu played the remainder of the game, recording three stops and allowing four goals.
The Mighty Macs return to Draper Walsh Stadium on Saturday hosting Baptist Bible at 1 p.m.
