LANGHORNE, Pa- Immaculata baseball swept the three-game set with Philadelphia Bible in a 12-6 win in Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Tuesday afternoon.
Both teams remained scoreless until the Mighty Macs (16-9, 9-3) pushed across five runs in the fourth and added another four runs in the sixth inning, including three homeruns from
Kevin Bertholf, Dave News, and
Matt Bolden.
News, Bertholf, and
Patrick Boulware all went 2-for-5 while News added two runs and a team-high three RBI. Bertholf also added two runs and one RBI.
The Crimson Eagles (5-17, 0-9 CSAC) cut the lead 9-6 scoring two runs in the sixth and added four more in the eighth inning but the Mighty Macs tallied two runs in the eighth to steal the win.
Matt Hardy doubled while adding another pair of hits and scoring one run.
Rick Gehman also doubled finishing 2-for 3 at the plate, with two runs scored and two RBI.
Aaron Dietrich tossed three innings for the win, allowing two hits and striking out five.
Aaron Haas came in relief for two innings surrendering one earned run on one hit.
Kirk Wenzler pitched the final two innings allowing five hits while striking out a batter.
Immaculata returns home on Friday hosting Keystone College for a single game beginning at 3 p.m.
