Baseball Takes Both Ends From Centenary

Immaculata, Pa- Immaculata swept its first Colonial States Athletic Conference doubleheader this season on Saturday afternoon as the Mighty Macs took both ends from Centenary College. Immaculata won game one, 13-2, and followed that with a 12-2 victory in the nightcap.

Immaculata improves to 7-9 overall and 2-3 in the CSAC. Centenary slips to 4-11 overall, 2-3 in the league.

The Mighty Macs got on the scoreboard early when Joe DiGiaimo ,Matt Hardy, and Matt Bolden scored in the first inning to take 3-1 lead. Centenary answered with a single run in the second but Immaculata kept the game out of reach scoring eight runs in the third and a single run in fifth and sixth inning. 

Hardy, Bolden, and Rick Gehman had two hits apiece for the Mighty Macs. Joe Rawlings was 1-for-3 with a team-high three RBI. Hardy also scored three runs in the victory. 

Alex Kobylinksi (1-3) started and pitched six innings, allowing just two hits and one earned run.
In game two, DiGiaimo went 3-for-4 at the plate with a team-high four RBI.  Bolden and Rawlings knocked in two hits each to add to the team total of 12 hits. 

Immaculata put two runs on the board in the first and added four more in the second to take a 6-0 lead over the Cyclones. Centenary scored a run in the second and fourth inning but the Mighty Macs would score three runs in the fourth and a single run in the fifth and sixth inning to seal 12-2 victory.

Bryan McHale (2-2) pitched a complete game for the win. He allowed six hits while striking out six. 

Immaculata returns to action on Monday traveling to Centenary to complete the three-game series. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
