Men's Lacrosse Rallies For 16-11 Win

IMMACULATA, Pa.
– Immaculata University men's lacrosse team held Shenandoah University scoreless during the fourth quarter while the Mighty Macs scored eight times to defeat the Hornets, 16-11, on a rain soaked and gusty Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium.

Immaculata improved to 5-7 overall and 2-2 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference while Shenandoah slips to 0-13, 0-5 CSAC.

The Mighty Macs trailed by their largest margin of the contest at the end of the third quarter as Bryan Pope scored for the Hornets with 49 seconds left in the third to an 11-8 lead. 

Brendan Dinneen set up Joey Shallow to tie the score at 11-11 with 8:04 left in the contest after Shallow and Dante Tuscai scored during the first 2:18 of the fourth quarter.

Ben Tuscai scored the game-winning goal with 6:59 remaining in the game unassisted, and the Mighty Macs scored four more insurance tallies during the final 6:21.

Immaculata led 4-3 after the first quarter, but Shenandoah had a 7-6 edge at halftime.

D. Tuscai had a team-leading three goals while B. Tuscai had a team-best seven points on two goals and five assists. Shallow registered two goals and two assists, and Dinneen finished with two goals and one assist. Jim Baranello and Brett Macauley each tallied two goals. Mike Boyd had one goal and one assist, and Jordan Smith and Max Bassett scored one goal apiece.

Immaculata goalkeeper Jon Diodati made eight saves to earn the win. Shenandoah goalie Andrew Fleischmann made 17 saves in the loss.

The Hornets was led by four goals from Pope and three goals and one assist by PJ Cooper.

Immaculata plays its final non-conference contest this season on Tuesday traveling to Catholic at 7 p.m.
