Women's Lacrosse Cruises Past Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa.
– Immaculata University's women's lacrosse team powered past Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday afternoon, 15-3, in a non-conference contest.

The Mighty Macs (2-7) scored five goals during the first three minutes of the game to set the tone early against the Chargers. Rebecca Whiteman had two goals and one assist while Kacie O'Neill scored two goals during the opening spurt for Immaculata. Emily Hallett had a goal at the 28:06 mark to account for all of Immaculata's early scoring.

Whitney Heise scored both of Lancaster Bible's first-half goals at the 28:54 and 24:28 marks. Following Heise's second marker, Immaculata ended the first half with five more goals to lead at halftime, 10-2. All five of the Mighty Macs' goal were scored by different goal scorers.

Immaculata scored the first three tallies of the second half before Lancaster Bible put the ball in the back of the net with 14:36 remaining in the game. The Mighty Macs added two more goals during the closing minutes for the final 15-3 margin.

Whiteman led the Mighty Macs with four goals and two assists while O'Neill registered three goals and one assist. Lauren Bigos had three goals and Hallett finished with two tallies. Kelly Kugler, Katie Cook and Chelsey Murta each recorded one goal in the winning Immaculata effort.

Immaculata goalkeeper Britt Worthington picked up the win while making 10 saves.

Heise had two of Lancaster Bible's (2-4) tallies, and Kirsten Fuller recorded the other goal. Chargers' keeper Erin Leonard had 14 saves during the afternoon.

Immaculata returns to conference play this weekend hosting Rosemont College at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Draper Walsh Stadium.
