RADNOR, Pa. – Immaculata University's women's lacrosse team fell in its Colonial States Athletic Conference contest at Cabrini College on Monday afternoon, 20-10.
Immaculata (1-7, 0-2 CSAC) was led by three goals from Kacie O'Neill. Emily Hallett had two goals and one assist while Rebecca Whiteman scored two goals. Katie Cook recorded one goal and one assist, and both Lauren Bigos and Kelly Kugler also scored one goal for the Mighty Macs.
Whiteman made her first career start in goal, and played the first half making six saves. Alysia Remaley played the second half in net with four saves.
Cabrini began the game with three quick goals for a 3-0 lead at the 23:02 mark. Immaculata answered with Hallett's two tallies less than two minutes apart to put the Mighty Macs down just one goal (3-2) with 20:59 remaining in the first half.
The Cavaliers had a five-goal run, including three from Christina Pasquariello, for an 8-2 advantage at the midway point of the opening half.
Kugler scored with 13:03 left and O'Neill had two goals within the last five minutes of the stanza, but Cabrini led 12-5 at halftime.
Cabrini (1-4, 1-0 CSAC) was paced by five goals and three assists from Jamie O'Hanlon, and Pasquariello also had five tallies. Janel Folkomer was the Cavaliers' starting goalkeeper and played the first 46 minutes with six saves. Gianna Porretta played the final 14 minutes with one stop.
Immaculata travels to Lancaster Bible on Wednesday at 4 p.m. for a non-league game against the Chargers.
