IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's lacrosse team started the Colonial States Athletic Conference slate off with an 18-10 victory against visiting Neumann University on Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium.
Dante Tuscai and
Joey Shallow each contributed five points to the Immaculata effort as Tuscai had five goals while Shallow had three goals and two assists.
Brendan Dinneen also had three goals and one assist for four points.
Brett Macaulay,
Mike Boyd and Jordan Smith each added two goals and one assist apiece.
Ben Tuscai and
Nick Ridolfi each recorded three assists, and
Tayler Acree provided the Mighty Macs' other goal.
Immaculata (4-3, 1-0 CSAC) came out scoring three goals during the first six minutes and outscored Neumann (1-6, 0-1) 4-1 during the first quarter. Macauley, Dinneen and Shallow each scored and then assisted on each other's goals to start the contest. D. Tuscai scored unassisted with just 22 seconds remaining in the first quarter to put the Mighty Macs ahead early, 4-1.
After the Knights made the score 4-2 just 42 seconds into the second quarter, the Mighty Macs scored two more tallies as Dinneen and D. Tuscai each netted goals off passes from B. Tuscai. The squads then traded goals before Neumann's Mark Consolo scored twice in 12 seconds to bring the Knights within two (7-5).
Immaculata ended the final six minutes before the break scoring three of the four goals, and the Mighty Macs led 10-6 at halftime.
Neumann got back within two (10-8) with 4:18 remaining in the third quarter, but Boyd ended the Knights' run with an unassisted goal at the 4:10 mark to cap all the scoring in the third frame.
Smith scored his second goal of the day 18 seconds into the fourth quarter, and just 1:10 later Neumann's Consolo tallied another goal to keep Neumann in the game at 12-9.
The Mighty Macs responded with six consecutive tallies to gain an 18-9 advantage with 2:48 left in the contest. Neumann scored with 20 seconds remaining, but it was too late for the Knights.

Jon Diodati made nine saves to pick up the win. Neumann starting keeper Andrew Neubauer took the loss playing the first half and making 11 saves. Ryan Davis played the second half for the Knights while making seven stops.
Consolo finished with four goals and two assists to lead the Neumann squad. Justin Mailloux added three goals and one assist.
Immaculata led Neumann in shots, ground balls and face-off wins. Immaculata's
Max Bassett forced four Neumann turnovers while
Chris DeFeo had three caused turnovers. Shallow led the team with six ground balls, and
Chaz Gorman, who won 17 face-offs, collected five ground balls.
Immaculata will be back in action next Saturday traveling to Marywood for a 7 p.m. start against the Pacers.
