IMMACULATA, Pa.- Immaculata University's diamondmen earned a 10-4 win in a non-conference matchup over Penn State Abington on Sunday afternoon.
Dave News went 3-for-5 with one RBI to lead the Mighty Macs at the plate.
Matt Bolden finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored as Immaculata tallied 14 hits in the game. Rich Gehman and
Joe DiGiaimo finished with two hits each.
The Mighty Macs (3-6) started out with one run in the first and would score five more in the second to open up a 6-0 advantage. The Nittany Lions responded scoring all four runs in the second, third, and fourth inning. However, Immaculata tacked on two runs in the eighth and ninth innings to claim the victory.
Bryan McHale picked up the win on the mound after pitching nine innings and surrendering two earned runs on ten hits. He also struck out eight.
Immaculata returns to action on Friday hosting Gwynedd-Mercy in its first conference game of the season. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
