IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's baseball team lost to visiting Swarthmore College, 10-7, in non-conference play on Friday afternoon. The Mighty Macs scored two runs in the eighth to tie the game (7-7), but the Garnet pushed three runs across in the ninth for the win.
The Mighty Macs fall to 2-6 overall this season with the setback while the Swarthmore Garnet improve to 7-4 overall.
Swarthmore opened the game with a run in the top of the first inning. But, Immaculata answered back immediately with a pair of runs in its half of the first.

Joe Rawlings later scored on a wild pitch to put the Mighty Macs ahead, 2-1.
After scoring in the first four consecutive innings, Swarthmore opened up a 7-2 lead on the host Mighty Macs heading into the bottom half of the fourth inning. The Garnet got one run in the second, three in the third and run in the fourth.

In the sixth, Immaculata had a two-out rallying as it loaded the bases on DiGiaimo and Rawlings walks and a single from Hardy.
Eli Vottero brought DiaGiaimo and Hardy home on his single into center field. The Mighty Macs were now down just 7-5.
After two scoreless innings by Swarthmore, Immaculata entered the bottom of the eight still trailing, 7-5. News started the inning off with a walk and was advanced to second on a sacrifice. News would take third tagging on a fly to right. Rawlings delivered a clutch two-out single through the right side to bring News home, and the Macs one run closer, 7-6. Vottero then delivered a RBI double down the left field line to score pinch runner
Chris Dickinson to even the score at 7-all.
The Garnet reclaimed the lead in the top half of the ninth with a three-run burst, and the visitors took home the 10-7 victory.

Richard Cusic lasted 3.1 innings surrendering seven runs on seven hits.
Alex Kobylinski (0-3) came on in relieve going 5.1 innings and taking the loss. Kobylinski gave up eight hits and three runs. Joe Caria faced the final two batters, allowing one hit.
Vottero finished 2-for-4 with three RBI, and both Rawlings and Hardy had two-hit afternoons.
Swarthmore reliever Zach Weiner (3-0) got the win, pitching three innings allowing four runs on four hits and walking four. Neil Mejia started for the Garnet, going five innings and only allowing three runs on four hits while striking out four and walking eight. Ramsey Walker pitched a scoreless ninth inning for Swarthmore, picking up his third save of the season.
The Mighty Macs travel to Penn State Abington for their next game on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
