IMMACULATA, Pa.- Immaculata University's baseball team dropped two games to Wilkes University on Sunday afternoon. The Colonels won game one, 8-3, and the second game, 4-3.
Immaculata falls to 2-5 overall with the loss while Wilkes improves to 4-4 overall.
Alex Kobylinski started the opening game and took the loss for the Mighty Macs. He pitched four innings, allowing six runs, five earned, on four hits. Richard Cusic pitched two innings in relief. He walked one and struck out three.
Rick Fetterman picked up the win for the Colonels, pitching all seven innings. He allowed seven hits while striking out five.
Dave News went 3-for-3 and led the Mighty Macs at the plate with three hits and one RBI as Immaculata tallied seven hits in the game.
In game two, Immaculata scored two runs in the third to take the lead 2-1. Wilkes answered with three runs in fifth to seal the win. Matt Hardy went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Mighty Macs. Eli Vottero picked up a hit and two RBI.
Aaron Dietrich started the second game and went 4.1 innings. He allowed three earned runs on three hits.
Sean Flecknoe pitched four innings to get the win. He allowed four hits and struck out three.
Immaculata heads to Eastern on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. first pitch with the Eagles.
