Tuscai Goal Sends Immaculata To Victory

IMMACULATA, Pa.
Ben Tuscai scored with 12.9 seconds remaining in regulation to lift Immaculata University past visiting Lebanon Valley, 9-8, in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium.

Immaculata (2-1) scored six unanswered goals during the final 32:53 of the contest to overcome an early 8-3 deficit. Taylor Acree scored just inside three minutes before halftime to make the score 8-4 Dutchmen at intermission.

The Mighty Macs scored three times in the third quarter. Dante Tuscai found the back of the net with 11:37 to play in the quarter before B. Tuscai scored two goals just 1:41 apart to cut the score to 8-7 Lebanon Valley heading into the final 15 minutes of action. B. Tuscai's second marker was assisted by Brendan Dinneen, giving the senior attackman 100 points for his career.

Mike Boyd netted the equalizer for the Mighty Macs with 8:27 left in the fourth quarter, and it appeared that the squads would head to overtime with the score tied at 8-all. However, Immaculata was able to cause Lebanon Valley to turn the ball over, and the Mighty Macs got the ball to B. Tuscai who headed down field and scored unassisted with 12.9 seconds left on the clock for the game-winner.

B. Tuscai finished with a four points on a hat trick and one assist. D. Tuscai and Mike Boyd each recorded one goal and one assist. Joey Shallow, Ryan Cipriani, Jordan Smith and Acree finished with one tally apiece. Immaculata goalkeeper Jon Diodati picked up this second-straight win with 17 saves.

Lebanon Valley (1-2) was led by Malik Pedroso's three goals and Matt Roupe's two goals and two assists. Bryan Lockward started and played the first half in goal allowing four goal and making five saves. Mike Moll played the second half in net taking the loss while allowing five goals and making six stops.

The Dutchmen began the game scoring six goals in the first quarter for the early 6-1 advantage.

Immaculata travels to Kean on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. contest.
