Women’s Basketball CSAC Championship Information

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's women's basketball team will compete for the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) championship and the right to advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament when it faces Neumann University on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m. at The Mirenda Center.

Saturday will mark the first time since the 1992-93 season that Immaculata has played for the conference crown. The Mighty Macs lost the 1993 championship to Cabrini College, 62-56.

The third-seeded Mighty Macs (19-8) punched their ticket to the CSAC Final with a 78-64 win on the road against No. 2 seed Marywood on Wednesday night in the semifinals. Senior guard Rachel Denis led an Immaculata offense that boasted four players in double figures with a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds. Immaculata defeated No. 6 seed Centenary in the quarterfinals, 87-59.

Top-seeded Neumann (19-7) returns to the title game for the second year in-a-row following a 65-48 win against No. 4 Gwynedd-Mercy College in the semifinals last night. Katie Young led the way for the Knights putting up a double-double with 18 points and 15 boards.

The Knights are the defending CSAC champions with a 75-58 victory at home against Gwynedd-Mercy College in last season's conference final.

The Mighty Macs and Knights have met twice before in the conference tournament, and Neumann won both those meetings. The two teams squared off in the postseason most recently one year ago in the semifinals at The Mirenda Center where the Knights advanced to the title game with their 71-56 win against the Mighty Macs in the semifinals.

Tickets to the CSAC Women's Basketball Championship can be purchased at the door for $5 for general admission and $3 for students.
