Men's Lacrosse Falls In Opener, 11-4

LANCASTER, Pa.
– Immaculata University's men's lacrosse team dropped its 2011 season opener to Franklin & Marshall, 11-4, on Wednesday afternoon.

Brendan Dinneen paced the Mighty Macs (0-1) with one goal and one assist. Joey Shallow, Dante Tuscai and Mike Boyd all had one goal.

Jim Baranello forced four turnovers and collected six ground balls. Max Bassett also scooped up five loose balls.

Boyd and Dinneen's goals helped Immaculata keep it close in the first quarter, and answered F&M's three goals.

However, Franklin & Marshall put three goals on the scoreboard in each the second and third quarters to lead, 9-2, heading into the final 15 minutes of play.

Shallow and Tuscai scored within the first three minutes of the final quarter, cutting Immaculata's deficit to 9-4. But, Franklin & Marshall added two more goals, and the Mighty Macs couldn't find the back of the end again.

Billy Kemper registered three goals, and Tim Gaines and James Wenk each scored two goals apiece for F&M.

Immaculata will be back in action on March 9 hosting Penn State Abington at 4 p.m.
