ROSEMONT, Pa.- Chrissy Esbensen poured in a game-high 19 points to power the Immaculata offense to an 81-58 victory on the road against Rosemont on Wednesday night in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball action.
Immaculata improves to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the league. Rosemont falls to 2-3, 0-2 CSAC.
Bridget Welz added 14 points, six assists, and seven steals. Leah Kuczynski totaled 11 points and eight rebounds while Kelly Brown added nine points, five rebounds, and four steals. Katie Durkin and Sara Smith came off the bench and totaled 10 points apiece for the Mighty Macs.
Rosemont came within four (32-28) with 3:37 to play in the first stanza, but the Mighty Macs led 36-29 at the break. Immaculata shot 43.8 percentage (14-32) from the field during the opening half compared to just 9 of 28 (.321) for Rosemont.
Immaculata extended its edge to 11 (45-34) just over five minutes into the second half, outscoring Rosemont, 9-4, to begin the half. The Mighty Macs continued to push the lead and led as much as 22 (69-47) with less than nine minutes remaining on Durkin's third three-pointer of the contest.
Rosemont was led by Elizabeth Coyne's 25 points and 12 rebounds while Ashley Montecchio finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Immaculata returns to CSAC action on Saturday, Dec. 3 at Centenary. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m.
