Women's Soccer Prevails In Season Finale, 3-0

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's soccer team bided farewell to its seven seniors on Tuesday evening, blanking non-conference opponent DeSales, 3-0, at Draper Walsh Stadium. It was the season finale for the Mighty Macs.

The Immaculata offense took an early lead in the first half on a penalty kick from Kim Steinke at the 7:53 minute mark. Steinke doubled the lead on her second goal of the game when she converted on Zena Tracey's corner kick in the 39th minute as the Mighty Macs held a 2-0 advantage at halftime. Junior Robin Valerio provided the final score of the contest 41 seconds in to the second half on a breakaway goal to seal the 3-0 win.

Zena Tracey led the attack with four shot attempts for a team total of eight to DeSales seven shots.

Freshman goalkeeper Dana Disney totaled four stops in the first half while Meghan McCurnin finished the second half making no saves. DeSales goalie Michelle Churchman registered two saves in the loss.

Immaculata ends the 2011 season with a 7-7-2 overall record.
