Run-Fest Goes To Penn State Abington, 23-18

FLEMINGTON, N.J.Matt Hardy and Joe Rawlings each homered twice and drove in five runs apiece, but Penn State Abington erased a pair of early-inning deficits to outdistance Immaculata, 23-18, at Diamond Nation on Wednesday afternoon.

Immaculata (5-11) scored 18 runs on 19 hits, marking its best offensive afternoon of the year. However, PSU Abington (6-12) plated 23 runs on 18 hits to come away with the win.

The Mighty Macs took a 12-2 lead after three and a half innings. However, the Nittany Lions plated four runs in the bottom of the fourth, seven more in the fifth and then pushed across 10 runs in the sixth to take a 23-15 advantage.

Patrick Boulware finished 4-for-6 with three RBI. Hardy and David News each had three hits as well. All nine players in the starting lineup registered a hit.

Aaron Dietrich took the loss in relief of Ernell Harley. Harley pitched the first three frames, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out two. Dietrich pitched an inning and a third and allowed five earned runs on nine hits.
