Men's Lacrosse Falls Against Elizabethtown, 14-5

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.Brendan Dinneen and Dante Tuscai each scored two goals apiece but it was not enough as Immaculata University fell to host Elizabethtown College, 14-5, on Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action.

The Blue Jays (1-1) scored the game's first seven goals before the Mighty Macs (0-2) found the back of the net with 3:33 left in the second quarter as Dinneen scored a man-up goal off a feed from Mike Boyd.

Elizabethtown added the first four goals of the third quarter when Tuscai scored with 2:41 left with an assist to Dan Klodarska to make the score 11-2. However, at the end of three, the Blue Jays held a 13-2 lead.

Tuscai added his second goal of the game 4:21 into the fourth quarter, and Elizabethtown scored its only goal of the fourth stanza two minutes later. Mike Boyd tallied his first goal of the season for Immaculata with 5:35 to play in the game, and Dinneen scored his second goal with just 40 seconds remaining.

Aaron Weber scored four goals and had three assists to lead Elizabethtown, while Cory Boushell and Jon Day each added three goal apiece. 

Elizabethtown finished with a 50-21 advantage in shots over Immaculata, which outshot the Blue Jays 12-4 during the fourth quarter. The Blue Jays grabbed 42 ground balls while the Mighty Macs picked up 25. Tuscai accounted for a team-high six ground balls.

Andrew Sim played all but 2:35 in goal for the Mighty Macs, making 15 saves on the afternoon. Max Bonhage made his Immaculata debut with the remaining time between the pipes. Brendan Corcoran played the first 38 minutes in goal for the Blue Jays and allowed one goal while making three saves to earn the win. Hunter Malick took over for the final 22 minutes and made six stops.

Immaculata travels to Penn State Abington on Wednesday, March 10 for a 4:30 p.m. face-off.
