Women's Lacrosse Falls In Overtime To Rutgers-Camden

CAMDEN, N.J. – Rutgers-Camden scored two goals in overtime to help the host Scarlet Raptors to a 9-8 overtime win against Immaculata University on Wednesday afternoon in non-league women's lacrosse action. 

Immaculata (0-2) got three goals and one assist from Rebecca Whiteman, including one tally in the overtime frame that gave the Mighty Macs the 8-7 edge with 3:26 remaining in the period. Lauren Bigos registered two goals, both during the first eight minutes of the contest.

Annalise Strojan scored five goals overall for Rutgers-Camden (1-1), with two key goals in the overtime, the last coming with 1:27 remaining in the game.

The Mighty Macs led 4-1 7:55 into the contest as they capitalized on three straight free-position opportunities. However, Strojan scored twice and assisted on the other Scarlet Raptor goal as Immaculata  held just a 6-4 edge at halftime.

Jennifer Steinke scored the Mighty Macs only goal of the second half with 21:44 to play as Rutgers-Camden staged its come back as it outscored Immaculata 3-1.

Immaculata goalkeeper Britt Worthington made nine saves in the loss. Rutgers-Camden's Rachel Powell recorded eight saves, including two in the overtime period, to earn the win.

Immaculata is back in action on Saturday when it travels to Lebanon Valley for a 3 p.m. game.
