Box Score

IMMACULATA, Pa. Bridget Welz scored 17 points as Immaculata University delivered head coach Patty Canterino her 100th career victory in a 68-29 Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball contest at Alumnae Hall Monday night.

Canterino becomes just the second head coach in Immaculata women's basketball history to reach 100 career wins, joining Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Cathy Rush in that elite company.

Immaculata (10-5, 4-2 CSAC) increased its winning streak to three games, and league winning streak to four, while Keystone fell to 3-10 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

Welz scored a team-high 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead three Immaculata scorers in double figures. Leah Kuczynski and Kelly Brown each posted 11 points while Kuczynski added eight rebounds, four blocks and four steals. Chelsea McTigue led the Mighty Macs on the glass with a game-high 11 rebounds.

Immaculata held Keystone scoreless for the first 8:54 of the game while the Mighty Macs built a 9-0 lead. Immaculata extended its margin to double digits with 8:35 remaining in the half, 15-4, and the Mighty Macs maintained a double-figure advantage the rest of the way.

Immaculata led 33-11 at the break after shooting 40.6 percent from the field during the first 20 minutes. Keystone, on the other hand, was just 3-for-20 (.150) from the field and was 4 of 17 (23.5) from the foul line during the opening half.

Keystone came out just as cold to start the second half, not scoring until the 14:51 mark while Immaculata had gone on a 10-0 run during that time to take a 43-11 lead.

The Giants put together a 10-3 run of their own over a six-minute span, cutting their deficit to 25 with 10:03 remaining (46-21), but that was as close as it came the rest of the game. The final margin, 68-29, was the largest of the night for the Mighty Macs.

Keystone was led by Yasmeen Bates' eight points, and Brianna Borowski finished with six points and six rebounds.

Immaculata is back in action on Thursday night as it travels to Gwynedd-Mercy for a 6 p.m. tip against the Griffins.
