GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - Immaculata's volleyball team swept Gwynedd-Mercy, 3-0, Tuesday night in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match. The Mighty Macs claimed the match with set scores of 25-12, 25-14 and 25-16.
The Mighty Macs improve to 3-9 overall and 2-1 in CSAC play while the Griffins fall to 3-15 overall and 0-2 in the league.
Jayme Lenosky posted 10 kills to lead the squad, and also racked up five service aces and seven digs. Lindsey Silvestro added six kills and three solo blocks. Kathleen Haefner recorded 19 assists and also had two kills. Tabitha Reilly led Immaculata's defense with eight digs.
Gwynedd-Mercy was led by three players with four kills apiece, Nicole Burke, Jackie Smith and Kelsey Craig. Burke also had a team-high six digs while Kristen Gambone recorded 12 assists.
Immaculata hit a season-high .296 for the match, committing only nine errors on 54 attacks. The Mighty Macs also held their opponent to a negative percentage for the first time all season, as the Griffins hit -.087 as a team.
The Mighty Macs will be back in action on Thursday as they host Centenary at 7 p.m. at Alumnae Hall.
