IMMACULATA, Pa. - Immaculata's women's lacrosse team had its senior night spoiled by the Bryn Mawr College Owls, 16-9, in the season finale for both teams on Tuesday night at Draper Walsh Stadium.
Claire Lichty tallied a team-high three goals in her final collegiate game.
Rebecca Whiteman and
Kacie O'Neill each netted two goals while Whiteman added one assist.
Lauren Bigos and
Kelly Kugler scored IU's other two goals.
Bryn Mawr (4-13) scored three goals inside the first two minutes of the contest, setting the tone of the game early. Lichty answered for Immaculata 4:47 into the game with an unassisted goal, making the score 3-1.
The Owls scored four more goals in a span just under three minutes, extending their lead to 7-1 with 18:48 remaining in the opening half.
O'Neill scored twice and Lichty added another goal before halftime, but it was Bryn Mawr with the 9-4 advantage at the break.
Immaculata cut the margin to four, 9-5, after Bigos slipped on past Bryn Mawr's keeper 2:43 into the second half off a feed from Whiteman. However, hat was as close as Immaculata would come the rest of the way.
The Mighty Macs had trimmed their deficit to five, 11-6, after Whiteman scored unassisted with 23:39 remaining, but the Owls scored four consecutive tallies to put the game out of reach.
Georgia Lawrence and Natalie Chrismer each recorded seven points for the Owls. Lawrence tallied six goals and one assist while Chrismer netted five goals and two assists.
Both squads used two keepers during the contest.
Alexis Erazo started for Immaculata and played 2:15 before being lifted by Brittany Worthington who played the final 57:45, making 11 saves and allowing 13 goals. Miranda Gordon-Zigel got the start for the Owls, playing the first half and forced to make just one save. Grace Kung entered at halftime and played the second half with five saves.
