Women's Lacrosse Falls In Final CSAC Finale To Cabrini

RADNOR, Pa. – The Immaculata University women's lacrosse team played its final Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) competition, falling to Cabrini College, 18-8, Wednesday at Edith Robb Dixon Field.

Immaculata's Claire Lichty scored three goals to eclipse the 100 career goal mark. Kacie O'Neill also amassed three goals, and Kelly Kugler added two tallies for the Mighty Macs.

After Lichty's free-position shot tied the score at 1-1 with 27:19 remaining in the first half, Cabrini's attack took control. The Cavaliers scored 13 consecutive goals, securing a commanding 14-1 cushion at the 27:04 mark of the second half, and a 12-1 halftime lead.

Cabrini (8-3, 6-0 CSAC) pushed its lead to a game-high 14 goals, 16-2, with 21:25 remaining, before the Mighty Macs ran off six of the game's next eight goals, pulling as close as 17-8, but with just 1:01 remaining in the game.

Five Cabrini players recorded four points to lead the Cavaliers. Amanda Alexandrowicz, Kellie Levy and Jacqueline McDermott each tallied three goals and one assist efforts. Erin Nollen and Kristen Vernon each notched their four points pairing two goals with two assists.

The Cavaliers owned a 41-20 advantage in shots and a 36-24 edge in groundballs. Cabrini also held an 18-10 margin in draw controls.

Cabrini goalkeeper Kate Schmid played the first half for the Cavaliers in the cage before making way for Gianna Porretta. Schmid posted seven saves en route to the win. Immaculata keepers Brittany Worthington and Alexis Erazo combined for 17 saves with Worthington making 16 stops in 43:36.

Immaculata (1-10, 1-6) returns to its non-conference slate Friday, April 17 at Draper Walsh Stadium against Penn State Abington. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
