SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore pulled away for the 17-5 non-conference women's lacrosse win over Immaculata on Thursday evening at Clothier Field.

Claire Lichty led the Mighty Macs (0-3) with two goals while Kacie O'Neill, Rebecca Whiteman and Emily Hallett each got a shot past the Swarthmore's keeper.

Immaculata cut the margin to 8-5 after Hallett found the back of the net with 5:52 remaining in the first half. However, Swarthmore scored three more goals in the half, and led 11-5 at the break.

Swarthmore (5-0) was led by Amy Vachal with five goals. Emily Evans recorded a hat trick with three goals as did Anna deRegt, who also tallied three on the night.

Garnet keeper Allison Grein had four saves between the posts, while Brittany Worthington made 16 saves for the Mighty Macs.

Immaculata opens the Colonial States Athletic Conference portion of its season this Saturday, traveling to Gwynedd-Mercy at 11 a.m.
