IMMACULATA, Pa. - The Immaculata University women's basketball rolled past Rosemont, 69-45, Monday night in Colonial States Athletic Conference action at Alumnae Hall. The Mighty Macs outscored the Ramblers 36-17 during the first half to outdistance themselves.
Immaculata (9-11, 5-6 CSAC) was led by
Dominique Murray's double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Chelsea McTigue added 16 points, five rebounds and three assists while
Kasey Hicks chipped in 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Adriann Demchenko registered a double-double to lead the Ramblers (4-17, 1-11) with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Alesha Butler added nine points, five rebounds and four assists for the Rosemont effort.
Immaculata shot 62.5 percent (15-24) from the field during the first half to open up a 36-17 halftime advantage. By comparison, Rosemont was just 6 of 29 (.207) from the field during the opening stanza. The Mighty Macs pushed their advantage to as many as 21, 36-15, with 22 seconds remaining before the break.
The Mighty Macs came out of intermission and took their largest lead of the night, 42-17, with 18:31 left in the contest. The Ramblers would cut the margin to 16, 56-40, at the 7:30 mark but Immaculata would rebuild its cushion.
The Mighty Macs were 27-for-51 (.529) for the contest and the Ramblers finished 16 of 54 (29.6). Immaculata outrebounded Rosemont 38-30, but dominated in defensive boards with 27 its 38 coming on grabs off Rosemont misses.
Immaculata travels to Neumann on Thursday evening for a 6 p.m. tilt with the Knights.
