LA PLUME, Pa. - Immaculata University's
Dominique Murray netted a game-high 29 points, eclipsing the 1,000 career point plateau, as the Mighty Macs recorded the 73-60 win over host Keystone in the season finale for both programs.
Murray finished the day 10-for-19 from the field and 9 of 13 from the foul line, while rounding out the double-double performance with 14 rebounds. The Wilmington, Del., native also recorded four blocks and three assists.
Bridget Welz finished with 17 points, while
Chelsea McTigue and
Kasey Hicks each added 10 for Immaculata. Hicks also amassed a double-double with 10 rebounds, while adding five assists. Welz dished out a team-high six helpers.
Immaculata finishes the season 12-13 overall and 8-8 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference, while Keystone ends the campaign with an overall mark of 10-14, 5-11 CSAC.
Immaculata clung to a one-point lead with 8:23 remaining in the first half before ending period with a 17-8 run to take a 10-point lead into the break, 37-27. Murray had 16 points at intermission.
The Mighty Macs had built their lead to 11 before the Giants strung together a 17-5 run for Keystone to take its first lead of the second half, 46-45, with 13:20 remaining in the game. Immaculata retook the advantage just three minutes laster, 51-50, and the Mighty Macs went on an 11-0 run to put the game out of reach for Keystone.
Sarah Barretto and Jessica Kobesky each netted 14 points to lead the Giants, while Ellen Fallon added 13. Yasmeen Bates led the Giants on the boards with nine rebounds.
