GLENSIDE, Pa. – Arcadia converted a penalty stroke in overtime to complete a three-goal comeback and defeat visiting Immaculata, 3-2, in a non-league field hockey match Wednesday evening.
Immaculata falls to 3-9 overall on the season with the loss.
Emily Hallett and Maureen Town each tallied early in the second half, giving the Mighty Macs a 2-0 advantage. However, a pair of goals from Ashley Griffith 2:16 apart in the second half tied things up for host Arcadia.
Brittany Worthington made nine saves for Immaculata in the loss. Brittany Rausmussen made four saves and allowed both Immaculata goals for Arcadia before being lifted early in the second half in favor of Rachel Palis. Palis made three saves and did not allow a goal to pick up the win.
Hallett posted five shots in the loss and Town three for the Mighty Macs, who were outshot by a slim 13-11 margin. Arcadia held a decided advantage in penalty corners, 13-6.
Immaculata returns home on Saturday to take on Keystone College on Senior Day where lone senior Ali Micheletti will be recognized.
