ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Elizabethtown knocked down a record-tying 14 three pointers, including a single-game record eight threes by Courtney Kofeldt, to down visiting Immaculata, 82-66, on Monday night in a non-conference women's basketball contest.
Dominique Murray led the way for the Mighty Macs with a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Chelsea McTigue added 12 points and five rebounds while
Bridget Welz chipped in 11 points and six assists.
It was a closely contest opening half with five ties and two lead changes. Elizabethtown had gotten ahead by seven, 17-10, at the 12:57 mark, but Immaculata was able to hold the Blue Jays to just three free throws over a span of 8:28 that allowed the Mighty Macs to come back and tie the contest for the fourth time at 20-all with 4:29 remaining.
After the two squads traded three pointers, Murray gave Immaculata its only advantage of the game, 25-23, with a layup 2:28 before halftime. However, Elizabethtown closed the half on an 8-0 spurt to lead 31-25 at intermission.
The Blue Jays quickly saw their lead reach double digits just two minutes into the second half, and Elizabethtown would retain a double figure margin the rest of the way.
Elizabethtown finished 14 of 27 (.519) from behind the arc while Immaculata was 5-for-10.
Kofeldt finished with a game-high 24 points, and Megan Quinn added 21 points and nine rebounds. Stephanie Ellwood registered a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards.
Immaculata returns home to face Philadelphia Biblical on Thursday night at 6 p.m. at Alumnae Hall.
