ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Immaculata University women's basketball team dropped a 73-59 decision at Cedar Crest College on Monday night in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.
Dominique Murray led the Mighty Macs with a double-double performance of 22 points and 11 rebounds. Kelly Brown poured in 17 points, four rebounds and three assists while Bridget Welz added 12 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals for Immaculata.
Immaculata (6-5, 2-2) was right in the contest during the first 12 minutes of the opening stanza, trailing by just one point, 25-24, with 7:39 remaining in the opening half. The Falcons went on a 12-0 run in just under three minutes to take a 37-24 lead with 4:59 to play in the first half.
Cedar Crest (5-5, 2-2) maintained its double figure advantage for the rest of the opening half, and the Falcons took a 42-29 lead into halftime.
Cedar Crest stretched its lead to as large as 17 on two occasions, and Immaculata was not able to trim the margin beyond 11 points.
Liz Sunderhaus paced Cedar Crest with 20 points and 16 rebounds. The Falcons also got 18 points from Leann Wallower and 17 points and nine rebounds from Lakeema Jones.
Immaculata returns to the friendly confines of Alumnae Hall for its first home contest in over a month against Centenary on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 6 p.m.
