CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Immaculata women's soccer earned a 1-1 double overtime tie with DeSales on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon. The game was originally scheduled for yesterday, but the weather forced the game to be moved to today.
Immaculata (0-2-2) got on the board first at the 25:10 mark of the first half when Zena Tracey scored her second career goal as she knocked the ball pass DeSales goalie Katie Halpin on a rebound of a shot taken from teammate Athena Campbell that had bounced off the post and right to Tracey in front of the net.
The game remained 1-0 at the half but DeSales (2-1-1 overall) wasted no time tying the game as the second half got underway as Katie Dishman scored unassisted when her shot got just over an out-stretched hand of Jessica Gaburo and landed in the left corner of the goal.
For the game, DeSales out-shot Immaculata, 25-12, and had a 10-2 advantage on corner kicks. Gaburo finished with eight saves while Halpin made four stops for the Bulldogs.
Immaculata prepares for its home opener on Saturday, Sept. 13, when it hosts William Paterson at 2 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium.
