Immaculata Comeback Falls Short, Falls To Eastern, 12-9

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata University men's lacrosse team's comeback fell just short Wednesday night, as it fell to visiting Eastern University, 12-9, at Draper Walsh Stadium.

Immaculata heads into the final weekend of the season 3-9 overall and 2-5 in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference. eastern improved to 7-8 overall and 6-1 in the PAC.

After Immaculata scored five consecutive goals to draw within 10-8 with 6:15 remaining in the contest, Eastern put together back-to-back goals just 21 seconds apart to halt the Mighty Macs streak and propelled the Eagles to victory.

Brendan Dinneen led the Might Macs with three goals. Tom Hartney added two goals and one assist while Zach Krytzer combined for three points on one goal and two assists. Drew McLaughlin chipped in one goal and one assist. John Uhl and Geoff Lorentz each tallied one goal while Alan Lorentz finished with one assist.

Andrew Sim made 13 saves between the pipes for the Mighty Macs in the loss, while Zach Rivest was forced to make nine saves for the Eagles.

Eastern led 6-3 at intermission and stretched its lead to 10-3 at the 5:55 mark of the third quarter before Immaculata made its late surge. The Mighty Macs were able to capitalize on 4 of 5 extra-man opportunities during the second half to bring themselves within striking distance.

Ben O'Donnell led Eastern with three goals while Nick Mandia tallied five points on two goals and three assists.

Immaculata plays its season finale at Neumann College on Saturday, April 26. Face-off is set for 1 p.m.
