Cougars Stop Mighty Macs, 17-3

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's women's lacrosse squad fell to visiting Misericordia University, 17-3, on Saturday, March 29, in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference contest.

Freshman Rebecca Whiteman amassed two goals and junior Claire Lichty tallied one goal for the Mighty Macs.

Freshman Melanie Suarez collected nine saves for Immaculata (0-3, 0-2 PAC).

Misericordia (4-3, 3-2 PAC) spread its first three goals over the opening 10 minutes of the game before Whiteman answered for Immaculata 10:09 into the contest. The Cougars quickly responded with four goals of the next 10 minutes for the 7-1 lead with 9:58 to play in the first half. Misericordia went on to lead 9-3 at the half.

Nicole DeAngelis and Shannon Tinkham each totaled five goals and two assists to lead Misericordia. Allison Hoffer and Heather Heun split duties between the pipes for the Cougars. Hoffer played the first half allowing three goals while making two saves. Heun played 30 scoreless minutes having to make five saves.

Immaculata will be back in action on Tuesday, April 1, when it hosts Gwynedd-Mercy at 4 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium.
