Neumann Spoils Home Opener, 16-7

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's women's lacrosse team fell to Neumann College, 16-7, in its season opener on Tuesday, March 11. The contest also marked the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) opener for the Mighty Macs.

Immaculata drops to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the PAC, while Neumann improved to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

Senior Jenna Specht, junior Claire Lichty and freshman Lauren Bigos all knotted two goals apiece. Freshman Rebecca Whiteman added Immaculata's other goal on the afternoon. Lichty also added an assist.

Freshman Melanie Suarez played all 60 minutes in the cage, garnering 11 saves. Caitlin O'Shea was in goal for the Knights and made eight saves while earning the win.

Gabby D'Ambrosio paced Neumann with six goals and added an assist, while Rachael DiCicco tallied four goals.

The Mighty Macs return to action on Thursday, March 27, when they travel to Arcadia. First draw is slated for 4 p.m.
