Immaculata Hands PSU-Harrisburg 62-40 Loss

IMMACULATA, Pa.
- The Immaculata University women's basketball team handed Penn State-Harrisburg a 62-40 loss on Thursday night at Alumnae Hall. It improved the Mighty Macs win streak against non-conference opponents to four straight games.

Immaculata is now 4-3 overall while PSU-Harrisburg is now 4-2.

Kasey Hicks led the Mighty Macs with a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds, both game highs, and chipped in five assists and three steals. Dominique Murray added 12 points, nine rebounds and three steals.

Immaculata scored the game's first six points before PSU-Harrisburg got its first basket at the 15:48 mark. The Mighty Macs extended their margin to 10-2 with 14:21 remainining in the first half when the Lady Lions put a string together.

PSU-Harrisburg would outscore Immaculata 11-4 during the next four minutes to trim the Mighty Macs lead to 14-13 with 10:41 left in the opening stanza.

However, Immaculata ended the half on a 23-5 run during the last 10 minutes, and held PSU-Harrisburg without a basket from the field for the final 5:43.

The Mighty Macs held the 37-18 lead at intermission, and would continue to pull away from the Lady Lions during the second half. Immaculata held its greatest lead, 60-32, with 4:35 to play and capped the game with the 62-40 victory.

Deanna Tropea chipped in eight points and nine rebounds, and Courtney Dixon finished with seven points, four rebounds and three assists for Immaculata. Bridget Welz also added two points, three rebounds and a team-best six assists.

Sandra Adames recorded a double-double for the Lady Lions with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Liz Bard led PSU-Harrisburg with 15 points and four assists.

Immaculata plays its final contest before the winter break when it hosts Marywood on Monday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.
