Immaculata Women Cruise Past Rutgers-Camden, 61-46

IMMACULATA, Pa.
- The Immaculata women's basketball team cruised to its third consecutive victory Monday night as the Mighty Macs defeated the Rutgers-Camden Lady Raptors, 61-46, at Alumnae Hall.

Dominique Murray led all scorers with 20 points and had seven rebounds and three blocked shots. Kelly Brown added 12 points and five rebounds while Bridget Welz chipped in 11 points, six rebounds and six steals.

Immaculata never trailed in the contest even though Rutgers-Camden tied the contest at 26-all with just under six minutes to play in the opening half. The Mighty Macs led by as many as seven points on five occasions before the 9-2 spurt by the Lady Raptors tied the contest.

The Mighty Macs held a five-point advantage, 33-28, at intermission after holding Rutgers-Camden scoreless over the last three minutes of the stanza.

It took the Mighty Macs just 4:40 into the second half to push their lead to 45-30, including the final five points of the run from Murray. The Lady Raptors two points were free throws from Sarah Gorbe, and Rutgers-Camden didn't have its first basket from the field until Karima Blackwell had a layup at the 15:03 mark.

Immaculata led by 19, 53-34, its largest margin of the contest with 7:33 remaining and ended with a 15-point win.

Brianna Duffin added eight points and six rebounds. Kasey Hicks grabbed a team-best eight rebounds and dished out six assists.

Immaculata controlled the boards, out-rebounding Rutgers-Camden, 47-38. The Mighty Macs had 15 offensive boards that led to 16 second-chance points.

The Lady Raptors were led by Gorbe's 13 points while Casey Crenny chipped in 11 points. Blackwell had a team-leading 11 rebounds for the Lady Raptors.

Immaculata will be back in action on Monday, Dec. at 6 p.m. hosting Neumann in the Colonial States Athletic Conference opener for the Mighty Macs.
