CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Immaculata University women's basketball team dropped its season opener to No. 9-ranked DeSales University, 83-32, in the DeSales Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday evening.

Immaculata begins the 2008-09 campaign 0-1, while DeSales is 1-0.

Kasey Hicks led the Mighty Macs with 12 points and added six rebounds. Dominique Murray led Immaculata on the glass with eight rebounds. Kelly Brown also chipped in six points in her Mighty Macs debut.

LeighAnn Burke led the Bulldogs with a game-high 23 points and Caitlin Miller chipped in 12 points.

Immaculata faces the loser of the Scranton/Montclair State contest  at 1 p.m. on Sunday in the consolation game of the tournament.
