Box Score

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Mighty Macs men's soccer team rallied back from a 1-0 halftime deficit with five second-half goals to defeat Centenary, 5-2, on what was a rainy and muddy Saturday afternoon.

Kieran Keelan began the comeback for the Mighty Macs just 10 seconds into the second half, tallied the game-winner goal in the 60th minute, and finished the afternoon with a hat trick.

Immaculata improves to 8-7-2 overall and 4-2-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with the win, while dropping Centenary's record to 9-7-1 overall and 3-3-0 in the conference.

The Cyclones took the early 1-0 lead when Ryan Bilello found a loose ball in the box following a corner kick and knock it home in the 19th minute.

Centenary carried its 1-0 advantage into intermission, but it took the Mighty Macs only 10 seconds into the second half to tie the contest at 1-all after Keelan got a breakaway and beat Cyclones' goalkeeper Damien DiBuono.

However, the game wouldn't remain tied for long, as Immaculata's Chris Conlan capitalized on a Centenary turnover and went in on a breakaway in the 50th minute, giving the Mighty Macs a 2-1 lead. Immaculata continued its scoring run less than 10 minutes later as Mitchell Torh made a cross in which Keelan finished for the 3-1 margin.

Centenary's Chris Guadagno found himself just outside the goal box with the ball where he dribbled around IU keeper Stone Gahagan and tucked the ball into the side netting, bringing the Cyclones to within one goal, 3-2, with just under 20 minutes to play.

That was as close as Centenary would come however, as just over two minutes later, Alan Lorentz made the score 4-2 when he found the back of the cage. Keelan completed his hat trick at 85:31 for the contest's final tally.

Richard Crist started in goal for the Mighty Macs playing the first 52:54, allowing just one goal and recording five saves. Gahagan played 35:16 and allowed one goal and made two stops while Zach Oas played just 1:50. The Cyclones' DiBuono made nine saves for the contest.

Immaculata held a 19-13 advantage in shots and a 9-3 lead in corner kicks.

Immaculata returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 28, traveling to Gwynedd-Mercy at 4 p.m.
