Immaculata Victorious at Rosemont

ROSEMONT, Pa. – Spurred by senior Nina Cammarano's 20 points, the Immaculata University women's basketball team soundly defeated Rosemont College Monday night, January 28, 64-53. The victory ups the Mighty Macs record to 4-12 overall and 2-6 in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference.

The Mighty Macs placed three players in double figures in the scoring column. Cammarano led the trio with 20 points, four steals and five rebounds. Cammarano went 2-of-3 from behind the arc and moved into second place on the all-time three-pointers made ledger with 161. The senior guard is now five threes shy of tying Lindsey Williams for the career mark. Sophomore Erica Massenburg poured in 13 points and made three steals, while junior Stephanie Stripe added 10 points.

Immaculata set the pace early, jumping out to a 14-7 advantage during the contests opening five minutes. Rosemont (6-11, 2-7 PAC) was able to come back and tie the game, 16-16, at the 11:21 mark of the first half, but that would be as close as the Ramblers got the remainder of the tilt. In just under seven minutes, the Mighty Macs outscored the Ramblers by a 15-3 margin, and went on for the 40-25 halftime lead.

Junior Kasey Hicks led the Mighty Macs on the glass collecting nine rebounds, dishing out nine assists and chipped in nine points. Junior Courtney Dixon grabbed eight rebounds and contributed eight points in the effort.

Rosemont was led by Adriann Demchenko's double-double with 13 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, while Christa Bednarek added 10 points for the Ramblers.

Immaculata will be back in action as it continues its four-game road stretch at Philadelphia Biblical University on Wednesday, January 30. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
