Freshman Colleen Jennings' goal at 60:13 propelled Immaculata University to a 2-1 victory over Goucher College to capture the Bryn Mawr College Invitational on Sunday, September 2, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
The Mighty Macs defeated host Bryn Mawr 3-2 on Saturday to advance to the championship game.
Immaculata struck first on an own goal at 7:30, but Goucher tied the game at 1-1 when Bri Girard found the back of the net at 12:59. It stayed tied until Jennings scored the game-winner at 60:13.
Immaculata outshot the Gophers 22-3 and held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Freshman Jessica Gaburo recorded one save between the pipes for the Mighty Macs, while Kellen Matthews collected 15 saves.
For their efforts, freshmen Traci Farrell, Michelle Meyer, Erica Lyons, and Jennings were named to the Bryn Mawr College Invitational All-Tournament team.
Immaculata returns to action on Wednesday, September 5, when they travel to face Albright College. Kick-off is set for 5 pm.
