WHAT TO KNOW

• The Immaculata University women's soccer team (1-2-0) returns to action Wednesday evening when the Mighty Macs travel to Widener University for a 7 p.m. non-conference matchup.
• Immaculata enters Wednesday's contest riding the momentum of its first victory of the 2026 season, a 4-1 triumph at Notre Dame of Maryland on Saturday.
• Widener enters Wednesday's matchup with a 3-1-1 record after opening the season with wins over Notre Dame of Maryland and King's, a scoreless draw with Skidmore, a 2-0 victory at Washington College, and a 1-0 setback at Catholic.

 
SERIES HISTORY

• Wednesday's matchup marks the ninth meeting between Immaculata and Widener in a series that began in 2009.
• Immaculata is 0-7-1 all-time vs. the Pride.

• Widener won last year's meeting, earning a 3-0 victory at Draper Walsh Stadium on September 18, 2025.

MIGHTY MAC NOTES

• Immaculata earned its first victory of the season Saturday with a convincing 4-1 win at Notre Dame of Maryland. The Mighty Macs scored three times during the opening 17 minutes and controlled play throughout the contest.
• Four different Mighty Macs scored against Notre Dame of Maryland, with Addison Yackel, Marissa Sozzi, Heather Russell and Gracie Repici each finding the back of the net.
• Junior midfielder Addison Yackel scored her first goal of the 2026 season in the 11th minute, heading in a corner kick from Emma Sobieski against Notre Dame of Maryland after recording two goals during the 2025 campaign.
• Sophomore defender/midfielder Marissa Sozzi recorded the first goal of her collegiate career on an assist from Lily McGee against Notre Dame of Maryland, scoring in the 14th minute to give Immaculata a 2-0 advantage.
• Graduate defender Heather Russell converted a penalty kick in the 17th minute for her first goal as a Mighty Mac.
• Sophomore forward Gracie Repici scored her first goal of the season in the 56th minute on an assist from Sam Terry against Notre Dame of Maryland. Repici finished with six shots in the victory after nearly scoring against Stockton when her attempt hit the right post.
• Sophomore forward Natalie D'Alfonso also recorded six shots against Notre Dame of Maryland, matching Repici for the team high.
• Senior defender Sam Terry continues to provide veteran leadership for the Mighty Macs. Terry appeared in all 15 matches last season and recorded two goals and two assists before adding an assist on Repici's goal against Notre Dame of Maryland.
• Immaculata has continued to utilize both Devan Cosgrove and Addi Husenica in goal. Husenica played the second half against Notre Dame of Maryland and made two saves in the victory.
• Wednesday marks the fourth contest of Immaculata's five-match road swing. The Mighty Macs have already traveled to Lebanon Valley and Notre Dame of Maryland during the stretch.

 
SCOUTING WIDENER

• Widener enters Wednesday's contest with a 3-1-1 record through its first five matches of the season.
• The Pride opened the season with a 3-1 victory at Notre Dame of Maryland before defeating King's, 1-0. Widener then played Skidmore to a scoreless draw and earned a 2-0 road victory at Washington College before falling 1-0 at Catholic on Saturday.
• Widener scored six goals through five matches while allowing just two. The Pride have recorded three shutouts and have surrendered more than one goal only once.
• Erin Quinn leads the Pride with two goals and four points through five matches. Quinn scored twice in Widener's season-opening 3-1 victory at Notre Dame of Maryland and has recorded five shots with three on goal.
• Madelyn Fisher has added one goal and has been a consistent presence in the Widener attack, recording six shots and four shots on goal through five matches. Fisher scored the game-winning goal in the Pride's 1-0 victory over King's.
• Madeline Eye has also found the net this season, scoring in Widener's season-opening win at Notre Dame of Maryland.
• Araba Abanyie has been strong in goal for the Pride, allowing just two goals through five matches. She recorded five saves against Catholic on Saturday and has helped Widener post three shutouts this season.
• Widener's defense has allowed opponents just two goals while holding teams to an average of fewer than four shots on goal per match.

 
LOOKING AHEAD
Following Wednesday's contest, Immaculata will remain on the road for two additional matches. The Mighty Macs visit Cedar Crest on Saturday, September 19 at 11 a.m. before traveling to Delaware Valley on Monday, September 21 at 4 p.m. Immaculata will return to Draper Walsh Stadium on Wednesday, September 23 to host DeSales University at 6 p.m.
