Immaculata Falls In Season Finale

Immaculata University women's lacrosse team fell to Alvernia College 19-9 in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, April 25, in Reading, PA. It was the season finale for the Mighty Macs (4-9, 3-7 PAC).

Sophomores Claire Lichty and Meghan Wood, junior Jessica Hanna and senior Jenn Hogg each collected two goals, while sophomore Jenn Norris added one goal. Junior Sarah DiSimone totaled 10 saves between the pipes for Immaculata.

After the Crusaders (6-5, 4-5 PAC) took a 4-0 lead, the Mighty Macs answered and pulled within 4-3 off a goal by Lichty at 14:51 of the first half. Alvernia scored once again to go up by two at 9:39, but Immaculata responded with a goal by Wood at 8:12 to cut the lead to 5-4. However, the Crusaders held on and took an 8-5 lead into intermission. The Mighty Macs never got any closer.

Laura-Beth Diggs amassed four goals and two assists to pace Alvernia.
