Alvernia Upends Immaculata

Immaculata University men's lacrosse team fell to Alvernia College 13-7 in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, April 14, at Draper Walsh Stadium. The Mighty Macs fall to 0-8 overall and 0-4 in the PAC.

Freshman Tom Hartney collected two goals and one assist, while sophomore Alan Lorentz amassed two goals and one assist. Sophomore Joe Slavick tallied a goal and an assist, while sophomore Geoff Lorentz and freshman Tim Flanagan recorded one goal apiece.

The Mighty Macs scored the first goal of the game, but the Crusaders (4-7, 2-2 PAC) totaled four unanswered goals to take a 4-1 into the second quarter. Both squads scored three goals in the second quarter as Alvernia took a 7-4 lead into intermission. The Crusaders outscored the Mighty Macs 6-3 in the second half to claim the 13-7 victory.

Freshman Andrew Sim collected 22 saves between the pipes for Immaculata and also earned his first career assist.

Sean Cullen paced Alvernia with one goal and five assists.
