Immaculata Earns Playoff Berth With 65-54 Win Over Rosemont

Senior Meg Legere collected a double-double as Immaculata University defeated Rosemont College 65-54, to earn a spot in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) playoffs on Thursday, February 8, in Rosemont, PA.

The Mighty Macs improve to 13-8 overall and 9-4 in the PAC. They have won five in a row and eight of their last nine.

Legere totaled 15 points and 11 rebounds, while sophomore Dominique Murray also recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Kasey Hicks amassed 12 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, while senior Mary Kate Pawlowski registered eight points. Junior Nina Cammarano garnered nine points, three assists and one steal.

The Mighty Macs scored the game's first 10 points, as the Ramblers did not get on the board until the 15:35 mark. Immaculata pushed its lead to 22-9 with 9:11 remaining and held on for a 28-21 halftime lead.

Rosemont cut the deficit to 32-29 with 16:45 remaining, but the Mighty Macs went on an 11-2 run to post a 43-31 lead with 12:54 left in the second half. The Ramblers were able to cut it to five, 43-38, with 10:59 remaining, but that would be as close as they would get as Immaculata cruised down the stretch to a 65-54 victory.

Andrea Boyle paced Rosemont (8-14, 3-11) with a game-high 19 points.
