Sophomore Dominique Murray recorded a career-high 22 points and pulled down a team-best nine rebounds as Immaculata University defeated Grove City College 78-66 in the consolation game of the Jim Crawley/FSU Invitational on Saturday, November 18, in Frostburg, Maryland.
Trailing 24-23 with 6:23 left in the first half, the Mighty Macs used a 20-6 run to close the half and grab a 43-30 halftime margin. The Wolverines were able to whittle their halftime deficit down to five, 50-45, with 13:48 remaining, but Immaculata pulled in front with four consecutive baskets. Grove City did not get any closer than eight points down the stretch, as the Mighty Macs' lead swelled to a game-high 75-60 with 2:40 left in the second half.
Sophomore Jessica Dantzler-Henry amassed a career-high 18 points, while senior Mary Kate Pawlowski totaled 15 points and fellow senior Meg Legere registered 14 points. Dantzler-Henry added eight rebounds, three assists and three steals, while sophomore Kasey Hicks came off the bench and dished out a team-high five assists.
Immaculata (1-1) returns to action on Tuesday, November 21, when they travel to face Elizabethtown College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
