DALLAS, Pa. - Immaculata's women's track & field team put together a strong all-around performance at the Misericordia Invitational, finishing fourth with 46 points. The Mighty Macs leaned on standout efforts in the middle-distance races, picked up key points in the sprints, and got important contributions from their field-event athletes to round out the day.

Immaculata's day on the track was highlighted by a dominant effort in the middle-distance events, led by freshman
Abby Grillo. Grillo claimed the 800 meters title with an IU program record time of 2:16.28, taking control in the final stages to secure the team's only event win of the meet. She later returned to score again in the 200 meters, placing fourth in 27.93 to cap a 15-point day.

Jacquie Leone made a major contribution in the distance events, finishing second in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:06.15. Leone doubled back in the 800 meters, placing seventh in 2:29.69 to add valuable depth scoring.

In the field,
Jillian Humphries turned in Immaculata's top performance, earning a third-place finish in the high jump by clearing 1.46 meters to score six points.Â
Maggie Friend broke her own IU program record in the Hammer Throw twice. She broke in her first throw with a distance of 27.37 meters, then broke it again on her third throw with a distance of 25.31 meters.

The Immaculata women's track and field team will be back in action on Saturday, April 25, when they will travel to Wilkes-Barre to compete in the King's College Monarch Open.
