WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Immaculata women's track and field team competed in the Monarch Open hosted by King's College on Saturday. Immaculata turned in several standout individual performances across the sprints, distance events, and throws, highlighted by a win in the 400m, a strong showing in the 1500m, and multiple top-three finishes in the field events.
Freshman
Abby Grillo delivered the top performance on the track, capturing the 400-meter title in 58.75 (program record) while also clocking 27.09 in the 200m for a solid sprint double. In the middle-distance races, junior
Aubrey Donahue earned a 2nd-place finish in the 1500m (5:16.66), pacing a strong race for the Mighty Macs.
In field events, senior
Jillian Humphries led a strong multi-event day, winning the high jump at 1.36m and adding a 3rd-place finish in the javelin (21.14m), demonstrating versatility across jumps and throws.
HOW IT HAPPENED IN TRACK EVENTS
- 100 Meter: Abigail Friend finished 15th with a time of 16.39.
- 200 Meter: Abby Grillo finished 3rd with a personal best time of 27.09, Abigail Friend finished 15th with a time of 34.72.
- 400 Meter: Abby Grillo finished 1st with an IU program record time of 58.75, Jacquie Leone finished 4th with a time of 1:07.39, and Jayla Gross finished 5th with a time of 1:08.33.
- 1500 Meter: Aubrey Donahue finished 2nd with a time of 5:16.66, Breanne Dymek finished 10th with a personal best time of 5:59.35.

- High Jump: Jillian Humphries finished 1st with a jump of 1.36 meters.
- Shot Put: Maggie Friend finished 4th with a personal best throw of 8.73 meters, Julianne Frederick finished 5th with a throw of 8.30 meters, and Joanie Lauer finished 10th with a throw of 6.64 meters.
- Discus: Joanie Lauer finished 5th with a personal best throw of 25.70 meters, Maggie Friend finished 6th with a throw of 24.55 meters, and Julianne Frederick finished 11th with a personal best throw of 16.30 meters.
- Hammer: Maggie Friend finished 5th with a throw of 29.32 meters, and Julianne Frederick finished 8th with a personal best throw of 25.85 meters.
- Javelin: Maggie Friend finished 2nd with a throw of 26.67 meters, and Jilliam Humphries finished 3rd with a personal best throw of 21.14 meters.

The Immaculata women's track and field team will be back in action next weekend, on May 2 and 3, when they compete in the Atlantic East Conference Championships being hosted by Immaculata at Draper Walsh Stadium.
