Softball Hosts Eastern for Non-Conference Doubleheader this Afternoon

WHAT TO KNOW
  • The Immaculata softball team (7-9, 1-3 AEC) is back at the IU Softball field this afternoon when they host Eastern for a doubleheader.
  • Immaculata is coming off a doubleheader split on Saturday vs Marywood. Immaculata won game one 13-12 in 9 innings and fell in game two 12-7.
  • Eastern (13-5, 4-2 MAC Commonwealth) enters today's doubleheader after splitting its doubleheader with Albright on Sunday.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Tuesday's doubleheader will mark the eighth and ninth meetings in the series between Immaculata and Eastern that began in 2007.
  • Immaculata is 1-6 all-time vs Eastern.
 
MIGHTY MAC NOTES
  • Alexis Andrada hit .571 (12-for-21) across six games while recording a hit in every contest. She totaled six runs scored, two doubles, one triple, and eight RBIs during the stretch. She went 5-6 with a run scored and two RBIs in their doubleheader vs Marywood.
  • Kaelin Kuester went 4-8 with three RBIs in the doubleheader vs Marywood on Saturday. In game one, Kuester's RBI single in the bottom of the seventh sent the game to extra innings. In the ninth, she walked it off with an RBI single to right.
  • Rylee Martin went 3-7, with a pair of home runs and three RBIs in Saturday's doubleheader vs Marywood.
  • Jamie Green went 5-9, with her first collegiate home run, and two RBIs in Saturday's doubleheader vs Marywood.
  • Naila Valdez went 3-7 with an RBI and some strong plays in the field during Saturday's doubleheader with Marywood.
  • Nadia Bhuiyan earned the win in game one of the doubleheader, pitching 5.1 innings in relief.

  • Sophomore shortstop Maura Yoos leads the Eagles, batting .483 (28-58) with seven RBIs and four stolen bases.
  • Senior outfielder Mackenzie Laub is batting .415 (22-53) with 15 RBIs.
  • Senior third baseman Sydney Ostolaza is .365 with three home runs and 12 RBIs.
  • First-year pitcher Emily Trzonkowski is 8-0 with a 1.93 ERA, has five complete games, and 55 strikeouts.
 
AEC WEEKLY HONORS
  • Alexis Andrada was named the Atlantic East Conference Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
  • Andrada hit .571 (12-for-21) across six games while recording a hit in every contest. She totaled six runs scored, two doubles, one triple, and eight RBIs during the stretch. In game one of Immaculata's doubleheader sweep at Penn State Abington on Wednesday, Andrada went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and a triple, scoring three runs and driving in five. She followed that up with another dominant performance in game one of the AEC doubleheader against Marywood on Saturday, going 5-for-6 with a run scored and two RBIs.
