Softball Hosts Ursinus This Afternoon for Home Opening Doubleheader

WHAT TO KNOW
  • The Immaculata softball (6-6, 0-2 AEC) returns home to the IU Softball Field for their 2026 home opener when they host Ursinus College.
  • Immaculata enters this afternoon's games after sweeping their doubleheader at Penn State Abington yesterday, winning 12-1 (5 Inn) and 9-3.
  • Ursinus (5-11, 0-0 Centennial) dropped both games of their doubleheader yesterday to Moravian, falling 9-3 and 10-1.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Today's games will be the 25th and 26th meetings between Immaculata and Ursinus in their series that began in 2009.
  • Immaculata is 6-17-1 all-time vs Ursinus.
 
LAST MEETING
  • Immaculata earned a split in their doubleheader at Ursinus last year on March 25, 2025, when they won game two of the doubleheader 5-4 in eight innings.
  • Jess Oldham and Rylee Martin knocked in runs for Immaculata at the top of the eighth to lift the Macs to the 5-4 victory.
 
MIGHTY MAC NOTES
  • Alexis Andrada is coming off a dominant doubleheader, going 4-for-5 with 6 RBI. Recorded multiple extra-base hits, including a double and triple in each game.
  • Carlee Karcher reached base 5 times in the doubleheader, scored 5 runs, and added key extra-base hits (triple in Game 1, double in Game 2). She delivered a clutch RBI in the seventh inning of game two.
  • Yesterday, Emma Pinto recorded four hits and three RBIs. Pinto continues to be a reliable bat in the lineup with multiple-hit games, in addition to her work behind the plate.
  • Naila Valdez registered three hits and four runs scored during the doubleheader. She sparked offense in Game 1 with a key RBI single.
  • Madison Formica registered 3 hits and scored 4 runs in the doubleheader.
  • Sara Pierson threw a complete-game two-hitter in Game 1, allowing just one run while striking out five.

  • Senior catcher Kayla Carr leads Urisnus batting .364, with five doubles, six home runs, and 15 RBIs.
  • Senior pitcher Christa Andrusiewicz is 3-5, with a 2.89 ERA on the mound, and is batting at 362 (17-47), with four RBIs.
  •  First-year infielder Tierney Stuempfle is batting .356, with three doubles and three RBIs.
  • Sophomore pitcher Lucy Wolf is 2-6 with a 5.41 ERA, with 26 strikeouts.
